Featuring Artists: Carolina Finley, one of Wilkes County’s most talented artist, she has been doing art inspired by nature’s beauty taken from our landscape and her travels for over 50 years. Watercolor is her favorite medium as portrayed on her canvases, cards, etc. Carolina’s artwork consists of drawings, silk painting, tile painting, and collage. Carolina has been an educator of the arts and supported the arts in Wilkes County for her entire art career.
Jessie Smith has been creating handmade and wheel-thrown pottery since 2011. Jessie works out of her pottery studio in Alleghany County NC. She participates in the Studio Tour of NC Mountain Arts, Adventure in Alleghany County NC, twice yearly. Jessie enjoys incorporating natural and organic aspects into her work, by creating pottery pieces that are one of a kind in different shapes, glazes and textures for everyday use.
CynDe Copple is an artist and gallery owner of Tsartistry Gallery in Franklin, NC. CynDe has been doing art since her teens and started out working in oils. For the past 15 years, CynDe has been working in fibers as a quilt artist. Her palette consists of cut fiber designs that she appliques and quilts. Her fiber art is inspired by color, movement, light, and nature.
Randall Dameron is a Wilkes County artist in photography and paintings. Randall’s artwork is a balance between tradition and modernity. He will exhibit a body of work that is a study of the various threads that continue to weave the past and present together. His artwork has been exhibited across the US as well as incorporated in the album artwork for Imogen Heap’s Grammy-winning album, “Ellipse.”
Pamela Haddock is a watercolor artist from Sylva, NC. She has been drawing, painting and creating art since she could hold a pencil in her hand. Pamela has ventured out of the normal traditional watercolor techniques by using non-traditional surfaces and tools. You will be amazed at what Pamela has learned in her ventures. Pamela is inspired by the mountain views, abundant waterfalls, and streams that are carved in the landscape where she lives.
