SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program)

SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) is sponsored by the Humane Society of Wilkes (HSoW) in order to assist low income persons to have their pets spayed or neutered and help reduce overpopulation in Wilkes County.

Program is income related so be sure and bring PROOF OF INCOME. If on public assistance a FOOD STAMP (EBT) CARD or MEDICAID CARD is acceptable. Be prepared to pay upon sign-up because a voucher is issued at that time. Cash or Checks only.

FOR EXAMPLE: Income under $15,000 per year total cost of spay/neuter for cat or dog is $25 (cost may vary due to circumstance such as pet in heat, pregnant or over 100 lbs). LAW REQUIRES all pets be up to date with Rabies Vaccinations. If pet is NOT current there will be an additional charge of $7 for vaccination.
