PHOTOGRAPHY BY MISSY JOHNSON September 1 –September 30 in the Friends of the Library meeting room at the Wilkes County Public Library Melissa Johnson will exhibit her Photography. Melissa “Missy” Johnson is a Wilkes County native. She is a 1985 graduate of Wilkes Central High School. The first camera she remembers using was a Kodak instamatic with the flash cube. She used many different Kodak film cameras growing up. Then her husband gave her a digital camera in 2003 after that she was hooked on how easy it was to take pictures and print them at home. Her passion for photography increased when her daughter was born. In 2010 she bought her first Digital SLR, a Sony SLT-A55V and that was the beginning of her love of shooting Nature, wildlife and landscapes. She is self-taught. She learned by taking photographs of her family and other things that she loves. She is happiest when she has a camera in her hands and is enjoying the outdoors with her family.
