This year, the North Wilkesboro Zombie Apocalypse is also adding a Comic Con aspect to the events culminating in a prize packed costume contest. The event will feature special guests, unique vehicles, Live Music, Specialty Vendors from across the state, Panel discussions, Photo Ops and Autograph Signings and of course a Zombie Walk down Main Street in North Wilkesboro. The date is May 20th 2017 with the event taking place within and across the street from the Wilkes County Public Library on 10th Street in North Wilkesboro. Tickets to the event are $10, $8 with two canned goods. A special Family price of $20 dollars covers Parents and two Children, $18 with two canned goods.
The North Wilkesboro Zombie Apocalypse and Comic Con is proud to support the Wilkes Public Library�s Imagination Caf�. All proceeds from this event will be used to support Imagination Caf�. Imagination Caf� is a free lunch program incorporating literacy programs available in the library to all children-all summer long. The main goal of this program is to reduce the Summer Learning Slide that children experience during the Summer break. Last year, in its second year, the Imagination Caf� served 1,305 meals to 369 different children while allowing children to experience high quality literacy activities every day, featuring music, stories, and tactile learning.
