As a child in Puerto Rico, Audie Bloise was fascinated with the birds all around him and spent his free time observing birds. His interest in animals and birds led to a career in veterinary medicine.

He discovered bird carving in 1982 and vowed that he would some day master the art form. Audie is self-taught with the help of books and articles. His talent has won multiple awards at The Ward World Championship, the premier waterfowl and art carving competition.
