NC law does not allow a judge to structure a wrongful death settlement to a minor. When they turn 18 they can go to the clerk of courts office and get a check from the clerk who has control of the funds. Not a good situation, but it is the law.

My first real responsibility as a young girl was a poodle I bought at 16. Barb had not been grooming for long, and Emily was just a toddler at the time.
