Thanks small. I had heard some quick news about survivor objecting and something about a lawsuit.

I don't know the song but the same thing happened today at the tea party rally in DC

You would think some folks would know when to quit stirring the pot, but evidently, these clowns haven't learned their lessons yet:

Yep, Davis, her ambulance chaser and Huckabee are facing a 1.5 mil lawsuit.

This woman should remain in jail for disobeying the law of the land. Some people have made her famous for being a law breaker.

I am still shocked that a Democrat was arrested for refusing to do her job.

if you're a preacher like Huckabee it gives you the right to have other's pushed out of the spotlight. This was the Huckabee show ! I'm surprised he let Davis's husband anywhere near the cameras .

Even Huckabee's wife looked a little unhappy, she was hoping to at least be on the front row.

The Judge recused herself, explained her situation, and moved the ceremony to another judge.
So, if the clerk recused herself, explained her situation, and moved the ceremony to another office, then that's not o.k.?

That would have been fine, but that's not what she did. She completely stopped the issuance of licenses in her county. To be comparable, the judge would have had to have completely stopped all marriage ceremonies within that jurisdiction.

It's easy to say just go somewhere else, but if you wanted to get married in a location in that county you could not. However, the judge would make other arrangements and people would still be married.

That's not what she did, she stopped people from being married in that county.

If she had recused herself and allowed another employee to issue the license, this conversation would not be occurring.

poor Ted ain't gettin' no luv on this one. was left behind to pick his nose all by himself. sorry Ted ... you missed the money shot for your campaign

The Texas Tea Party member was seen at a rally backing Davis in Grayson, where Davis was jailed after refusing orders from a federal court and the Supreme Court to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. However, when Cruz tried to talk to the media after Davis' release, the Times noted that "an aide to Mr. Huckabee blocked the path of Mr. Cruz, who appeared incredulous."

Who said one has more rights than another? It's how each circumstance was handled. The Judge recused herself, explained her situation, and moved the ceremony to another judge. The clerk of court refused to issue a license and refused to allow anyone in her office to do so. She not only tread on the rights of those wanting to legally wed but the individuals under her.

The judge did neither because not one couple was stopped for getting married.

It's really not hard to understand.

Say you are on the interstate and traffic comes to a stand still, there's no way to go around because someone is blocking your path. You are stuck. But in another case someone is blocking the path but shows you a way around it so it does not stop your journey.

Actually, unless you are one of those people that believe that we aren't all equal and that a judge deserves more rights then a clerk, you kinda have to admit that it's the same. One persons temper tantrum is another person exercising their rights. If a judge deserves more rights then you or I do, then we HAVE A PROBLEM.

But it's not the same. A judge may legally recuse himself from a case anytime there is a conflict of interest. The judge exercised that right and forwarded the people to another judge in the same jurisdiction to perform the ceremony. If the judge were refusing to allow anyone in the jurisdiction to perform the ceremonies, then it would be the same.

The clerk could have authorized her deputies to issue the licenses and then we'd be talking about the same thing, but she didn't. She refused to allow the office to carry out it's assigned duties.

No one's rights are any different. The judge exercised hers, the clerk chose to go beyond hers.

I was referring to top soil. I think he thinks the judge does it - it's o.k.....the clerk - not o.k.

there was nothing in any of my posts that even suggested that i thought anyone had more rights than another.
