WHAT IF ATHEISTS ARE WRONG?

old man down the road

I would rather leave this world knowing I have made life better for my children and my grandchildren than knowing I will be going to heaven. I care more about them than I do about other people's fantasy of life after death.

the only rewards any of you or us will ever see, are the ones that we see in this life. Those rewards come from being a good person and helping others. THOSE are life's rewards. If you are hoping for some other reward, I'm sorry but you are going to be very disappointed.... (not that you will be aware of the disappointment.) Stop living your life as if there's a prize at the end of it. Start living your life not expecting prizes or rewards... just be a good person, no matter whom you are or what you believe. The brass ring is already in your hands... not when you die.

I often entertain ideas in my head about the origins of life, but that's all it is, entertainment.

There are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. What are the chances that you were born into or joined the wrong one? 1 in 4,200. "When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion."
Abraham Lincoln

If we are wrong them so be it. We lived a better life for it and if we're right then we will reap the rewards.

what if you're wrong about Allah, Vishnu, Krishna, Zeus, Thor?

I always thought that Pascals Wager was not valid, if there is a god, a grand scientist and engineer of the universe, i would think that it valued honest disbelief over inauthentic belief.

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."-Marcus Aurelius-

The Buddha was an atheist and the Christ taught his parables and preached his sermons. I reckon if it was good enough for the Christ to pass on....

At last count, there were close to 300 different religions/sects throughout our world. So, is only one correct and 299 wrong? Seems no matter what, quite a few may be disappointed . . . . And all think it won't be them.

the worst part of being right is the fact we cant say "told you so" because we'll be dead.

We all need to believe in Something.

Why is it necessary or mandatory to believe in anything at all.

We are here to live our lives, to live them to the fullest. Hopefully we all will have the opportunity to share our lives with others, be it kids and relatives or friends and neighbors or complete strangers.

We can't imagine or fathom the afterlife...as no one knows for certain what and or if there is such a thing. It can't possibly be healthy or productive to worry about what we're not sure of, whether it be a paradise or a dump.

To be so minded that it takes away from living in the present is not our purpose on this planet.

If we ask the question if atheist are wrong, its only fair to ask if Christianity is wrong, so on with other religions. Nobody really knows, if a god or gods exist or not. I guess that's what an individual has to determine for themselves. Believe or not to believe.
