AEV is going to have to make some layoffs though. Hopefully its not a lot of people (around 20 last I heard)

We make some Chevys, but not near as many as the fords. They have really been our saving grace since they were staying afloat while Chevy and others had to get bailout money and file bankruptcy etc. We also make some with Dodge Rams and Sprinters.

they do make chevy ones in pitt co,and wake co has a place that makes the with the dodge rams.

AEV is the 3rd largest making ambulances in the US. I think this is great. They started out in a barn up behind the carwash in Jefferson I was told. Back between 03 and 08 they were turning out 25 a week. Hats off to these folks for not setting around complaining. "Oh poor me, I live in a oppressed area, poor me, I wish somebody would bring in big business so I can get a job." These folks decided to get busy, work hard, smart, and not give up until they were successfull. Wow, what a great example of the opportunity America offers and someone who took advantage of all the great resources availible to all of us and did something positive. I drive a carhauler and haul those cargo vans and cutaways up there. All the AEV people are great to do business with.

I have relatives that work at AEV and they really like it. They have not had any down time during this entire recession/depression

Told some it was the new Christmas trees of Ashe! They are in what used to be a Christmas tree lot.Glad to help! Lots of people ask the same thing!
