Topic: 3WC Editorials disguised as News.
Mtnbiker Posted 6:08 pm, 11/07/2009
oops .... my brain apparently took a quick flight to another dimension composing that last sentence LOL

Mtnbiker Posted 6:06 pm, 11/07/2009
Read their quote / the story, read my points.

I'm saying it's dishonest to represent it as news, it's clearly editorializing.

And yes, putting an organization forward as a christian organization does in fact subject it to a higher standard. He who lives by the sword ....

Please note also that I made acknowledge that journalistic standards have declined and it's not limited to one group or another.

I'm with MYM, there's no such thing as objective reporting anymore. Calling out 3WC is easy since they're seen more, but what about the Journal Patriot and the Record? They're obviously just as biased (if not more so).

Swingtown Posted 3:38 pm, 11/07/2009
Thanks for your editorial reporting and assuming that you are the standard as to what actually is or isn't news..

mysteriousyoungman Posted 1:35 pm, 11/07/2009
Have you read the news lately? in the past 10 years objectivity in the reporting of the news has disappeared. Since CNN, Fox News, and many other news outlets have been practicing this for several years you only notice this now from 3WC? Does this mean that you do not keep up for the news or that you are just wanting to pounce on a local radio station? I mean all you had to do was listen to Dan Rather who was blatantly acting without objectivity when he reported on anything that had to do with the Republicans. So, are you just pouncing on 3WC because they are a Christian organization or is it because you have been blind and deaf until the day you read that one report?

Mtnbiker Posted 12:51 pm, 11/07/2009
LOL Hipower. I'm betting ethics aren't high on their list of priorities either.

hipower Posted 12:50 pm, 11/07/2009
Boy Mtn, I bet the folks at 3wc would really be hurt by your comments...but based on their editing skills I'm betting they don't spend a lot of time reading anything.

Health Care: To Some, Bill is on a Level with God
I always thought "news" was supposed to imply at least the appearance of objective reporting. In this day and age we all know that both the left and the right often let a bias affect what they report and how they report it. Still one would think there are limits. Perhaps a better choice of words is one would hope.

With words such as "the health care bill about to be inflicted on the country" it's blatantly obvious that what we have here is an EDITORIAL and not a news story. It's dishonest to present it otherwise as there is not even an attempt to be objective. Perhaps this christian station should add honesty to the list of virtues they endorse.

In legal writings, there is no word stronger than the word shall. Orders of magnitude stronger than should, much stronger than will -- shall conveys an absolute, unalterable requirement that something be done. And the health care bill about to be inflicted on the country by the Democrat-controlled Congress is stock-full of the word shall. Fifth district Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, a Republican who will vote against the bill, says some Democrats are likening what they are doing to the very work and words of God:
