Speedway Associates, Inc. will be holding a press conference to unveil their plans and intentions for the North Wilkesboro Speedway next Tuesday at 1:30, at the Speedway. Elected officials from all local governments will be attending the conference, and the public is invited. SAI officials have expressed that they would like the opportunity to assure Wilkes County citizens that they are legitimate. While not all details of their plan for the Speedway can be made public at this press conference, we believe that what can be released will be exciting news for Wilkes County. Wilkes EDC will attempt to answer what questions it can regarding this project; however, please be advised that all parties involved, including Wilkes EDC are under signed confidentiality agreements with SAI due to the sensitive nature of their project. As such, any information that is provided is as allowed by SAI, and there may be some information which Wilkes EDC may not be at liberty to discuss. We hope to see as many of you as possible at next week's press conference.

Bulldoze it down put a sams club or a target or somthing to bring some jobs to this county that dog wont hunt any more !!

you think they can run a speedwat without creating some jobs? there are plenty of good places available to put a Sam's or Target! This is our roots...our heritage....this is going to be a great asset for the local economy!

Are they going to run the first union 400, and the tyson holly farms 400 wow,i cant to see . go dale jr, jeff gordon jimmie johnson and all the cup drivers. maybe they can run the nationwide series some here.

we will get a waterpark thair before thay put a nascar saction race back at nws! tell me why did thay sut it down to start with To Take its dates and give them to new tracks ! Thay are no new dates in the years to come .So keep dreaming. Nice place trailer park .at least it will pay for its own taxes!!!

You know I can't believe anyone that would not be excited about what you have done for this country by all your hard work Terri.I know you have done Benny proud!....Thanks for all your hard work on making this happen....As always you will have a few naysayers....maybe you can find them some work keeping the restrooms clean once the track opens....I will do my best to pass the word about next Tuesday....This could be a great oppurtunity to turn things back around in Wilkes county....First we got Holly Farms back at the Tyson plant insuring it's growth and sucess....We have a new Wal Mart supercenter and several new stores in the shopping center....The construction has begun on the new Cici's pizza and Chic Filet will be starting their project in the next couple of months....Now the re-opening of the Wilkesboro speedway!!!!

Ms. Parsons I just wanted to also say thank you. It is awesome this is happening and the fact that you are part of it just makes it extra special. I cannot wait to see whats going to happen with the track, I can only think of good things.

I agree with batman. This is great news for the county. It will bring some jobs and maybe someone else will be interested in joining in to use it at other times. Thank You Terri Parsons.

Race22.com will be at the press conference, and the track has full support from us, as they always have. This is great news and an exciting time for the world of Motorsports, racers, fans, and the people of Wilkes County. I am VERY excited.

i think its awesome that their opening the track back up and thank you very much to all the people to make this happen and to all the people that are naysayers get over it if you dont like it move to winston or charlotte or hickory to the city we need this track back opened so again thanks

Corey, does this mean you are no longer supporting Collins?
Also, dlstone, NASCAR is more than just the Sprint Cup Series.
