To everyone planning on attending tomorrow. The press conference will still be on rain or shine, in the event of rain the press conference will be moved to the covered garages in the infield.

Bumping really quickly so that the weekend posters here will be informed as well. Also, please be advised that the press conference/media day will start at 1:30 on Tuesday, and not 2:30 as was reported in the Winston-Salem Journal. Hope to see you all there!

TV coverage of Daytona this past year said it was 'sold-out', but they lied. If you went online, even on the day of the race, they had plenty of tickets still for sale.

they USED to show the grandstands on tv at every race. if they slip up once in a while you can get just a glimpse now. and you see a lot of empty seats. do the mrn radio guys still hype up the "capacity" crowds like they used too. i wouldn't ask, but i don't listen to the races on the radio anymore, nor do i hardly ever watch a race anymore. very seldom. if at all.

Check out the empty seats on any given Sunday for the truth....that is if the cameras will show them to the viewing audience.

if the sprint cup keeps going the way it is, you might not have to worry about that series much longer. 43 car iroc field.

Yeah, you don't need a Sprint Cup date there to be successful, a good weekly racing series program with a few tours and special events scattered throughout the year would make for a viable business venture.

At the rate the Sprint Cup Series is going right now, you'd probably get a better show from USAR, UARA, ARCA, or Camping World or The Whelen Modifieds (all of which are a whole lot more realistic to race there anyways)

I can't make the meeting but reps from the Rolling Thunder Modifieds (my tour) will be there in support and will definately be there October 3rd.

I went to the track yesterday afternoon and watched Robert Johnson practice. It was a great feeling just to see a car out there running.Robert's crew has cleaned the track. Thanks guy's you have done a great job.

agree with most of what Batman says

.... on this thread

.... and it still leaves a foul taste in my mouth

This is great news, be good to hear that sound around here again.

Yep, got his bail money in my pocket. Just stay on the sidelines, there is a reason you are there to begin with. Look forward to working with the new people at the track.

Corey, does this mean you are no longer supporting Collins?

Also, dlstone, NASCAR is more than just the Sprint Cup Series.

Race22.com will be at the press conference, and the track has full support from us, as they always have. This is great news and an exciting time for the world of Motorsports, racers, fans, and the people of Wilkes County. I am VERY excited.

I agree with batman. This is great news for the county. It will bring some jobs and maybe someone else will be interested in joining in to use it at other times. Thank You Terri Parsons.
