political bashing, what does it prove? nothing. except we are too stupid to see what the democrats and republicans alike are ruining this country.

CHILLNOUT! Posted 6:17 pm, 11/05/2009

smalltownman Posted 6:16 pm, 11/05/2009
It would be easier to kick a drug habit than to kick a Go Wilkes habit!

I agree with Skitter & DLM!! Gotta have my at least twice daily dose of Wilkes County chatter! I rarely "talk" but I always enjoy!!

We already have that policy polkadot. Do remember that Jason is one person and can't possibly read every single post that is made on here. He depends on you guys to click the link below to report abuse or inappropriate usage.

8. What is your policy on giving real names?
Names and other identifying information are generally prohibited, with a few exceptions. The forum is moderated by a real person, and while some names are blocked by default, others will usually be removed as quickly as possible.

The exceptions are elected officials or public figures, and business names. For instance, an accountant may operate a business of John Doe, CPA, and in that case discussion the name would be allowed as long as the discussion pertains to the business.

You may also give the name of someone that is publicly known or that has been in the news, but you can generally only discuss the topic for which this person is publicly known. For instance, you can discuss the abilities of a local athlete, but can't discuss their relationships or personal attributes.

Always somthing going on. I just hate all the political bashing that go's on

DLM28659 Posted 12:51 pm, 11/05/2009
yes, this site is most certainly entertaining, informational, educational, thought-provoking, & addictive!

This site has the opportunity to unite the community and be a great source for local news. It is always a great place to debate politics with Batman. You can learn the ancient customs of Buddhism from Bestill. Pray daily with Asku and her thoughts for the day. Learn all the world's knowledge from Forever Cynic because apparently he knows everything, just ask him. Now the hard part...

It would be a lot better site if Jason had a policy that NO, that is NONE, meaning NO ONE were able to post names of local people in their threads. I understand local, state and national political figures and those in the national spotlight already in the news for various reasons. I just think it smell like a nasty armpit when someone with a personal agenda comes on here and singles out a local teacher, or principal, or pastor and ruins the good reputation. Most of the time it is a disgruntled teenager who got into trouble at school just trying to smear a good name. Often it's a church member that didn't get their way and stormed out of the church with a vindetta.

Maybe I'd just like to see it kept a little less personal than it is at times. Enjoy.

AFTER READING GO WILKES. FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A MASTERS DEGREE IN ANY FIELD. IT IS FUNNY, EDUCATIONAL AND KEEPS UP TO DATE ON SUBJECTS THAT THE JOURNAL PATROIT NEVER COVERS. AND THE NEWS IS GREAT. YOU LET A SIREN SOUND, ANYWHERE IN WILKES COUNTY AND IT WILL BE KNOWN COUNTY WIDE WITHIN 15 MINUTES (WXII NEWS CAN'T COVER ANYT HING THAT FAST)

Even though I live in VA, I have met several people off GoWilkes due to my animal rescue work. Everyone I have met they have been awesome. My brother lives in Wilkes, is how I happened to find this group. Very entertaining, I might add.

If it wasn't for gowilkes my life would still be in the dumps. It has changed me, meet alot of great people, some not so great, and a very special someone that has given me true hope for happiness and a world filled with joy.

freddiemae Posted 11:36 pm, 11/04/2009
I learned how to make biscuits because of GW and Mr Granny Felts and of course Goddess!!!! Learned how to make roses on a cake and basket weave icing on a cake. Almost forgot about the cheese cake. I have made several friends that I hope to have for many years to come.

baratone09 Posted 11:19 pm, 11/04/2009
I like the threads on gw My onley problem is when people start bashing God and The Bible I think to make it better on here is to be friends and not bash anyone

freddiemae Posted 11:13 pm, 11/04/2009
I enjoy GoWilkes too, but I do wish people would be nicer to each other sometimes.
