Yep...we can spend 3 trillion dollars killing people with no way out, but we can't put a knickel into saving American lives Nope. Let's take some Insurance lobbyist money and shut down any REAL reform efforts. Great job, US government representatives. I know you have the best interests of myself and my fellow Americans at heart...NOT!

if Health Reform is scarier than terrorism, does that mean we can launch an open ended trillion dollar war on disease?

Virginia Foxx is an absolute embarrassment every time she opens her mouth. Calling the murder of a young man a hoax - can't believe even she would do that in front of his mother. Now, health care reform is worse than terrorism? She is nuts...nuts I tell you and I am ashamed to have her as my representative. I'll never vote for her again. I am soooo pissed. Sick and tired of the politics on both sides of the aisle. How about doing something for the American people for a change and not yourself or the lobbyists that seem to own our government. Sick of it ALL

Average rent for a small Family. $300 average gas costs $100 Average phone cost $40. Average power bill $150 Average car payment $200 average car insurance $100 average food bill $200.
Average take home pay per month for fast food or retail sales employs $800.
Anyone care to do the math? How many people are trying to make ends meet on 800- 1000 a month?

homecreator how would any of those fix the problem? Are you once again counting on the all mighty Tort reform? Counting on changing something that adds one half of one percent to the total costs to suddenly make things so much more affordable well there is no logic to it at all.

I agree with Virginia Foxx. We could have tort reform, eliminate the 7.5% floor on deductible healthcare expenses and pay for those who are without health care a whole lot cheaper than government healthcare

It might be a crisis if the bean counters and the people who own the beans lose a few beans.

Lone Ranger09 Ironically most of the time that is how a company gets started. Someone has a good idea someone else has they money. Its an annoying setup at times but it works.
My question would be well then what are the ideas how do you plan to manage them how long can I expect to wait before I see a return and so on.

Knight, and what are those good ideas, and by the way how will it be paid for. It is kinda like something I had happen a few years ago. This man called and asked if I would like to go in business with him. I said " what part of the business do you want me to participate in"? He said, " I have a lot of good ideas but dont have the money to fund them.would you like to help by providing the funds.?" Yes I Iaughted at that too

I have to take offense Lone Ranger. My kids have received medicaid for 10 yrs now. I am neither illegal or a crack ho. I do no drugs, rarely drink, And have been steadily employed since '98. I have had no choice but receive help to keep my kids healthy. I had insurance for myself at work and just for me it was close to $60 a paycheck. I couldn't afford over $110 to insure the kids. Until recently I brought home maybe $700 a month to support me and three kids. I'd like to see you do it. I'm better off now. Changed jobs a year back and got better coverage but been laid off since. Yes I am on medicaid. I do receive food stamps. my kids are on Wic. But guess what. That's what those programs are for. to help those who need them. I paid my taxes since 98 by golly i will use those programs they helped pay for.

Why don't you idiots use your time for something useful instead of all this back and forth whinning? Bush did nothing for us and Obama is doing nothing for us!! Plain and simply put so ALL you idiots can understand! My children have more sense. At least when they argue it is over something they can control. What you need to do is use all this free time you so readily waste to get a job or volunteer in your community. Wilkes commissioners should have used thier heads . They could have given all you idiots shovels when the racetrack closed and the septic lines could have been fixed already! Well then again ya'll spew so much ridiculous **** it would have overflowed by now! What idiots!!!

Depends lone. Had the government said well lets go to a copy of the system in the UK or Canada I would say no. I think the current ideas are very much on track however to be effective.

And setting up another government controlled system of red tape and abuse will be the answer. I say if they can save all that money from medicare fraud, then lets use that for the trigger to start socialist medicine. When they save the money, then, let them start paying for the health care for the illegals and street crack heads they want to.

I said Viable solutions Loneranger. Tort reform might lower the cost by 1 half of 1 percent.
Allowing companies to cross state lines faces 2 problems. First what is to then stop them from all flocking to the state with the least regulation allowing them to screw over more people. Second increased competition between established companies fails to give results. These guys have no desire to compete in a way that will actually lower costs by any margin. You can see this by comparing rates between the states as in the current system each state has a different range of providers.

get the trial lawyers and ambulance chasers like John Edwards out of the demoncratic party and you might just find a few reasonable solutions, short of a socialist government health scare scheme.

You know its funny. But for all the complaints and comments and fear mongering I have yet to see a single republican here or else where offer a viable solution to the problems in the system. Not a single one.
