Topic: Who are the best Republican candidates for 2012 presidency?
kscottbailey Posted 3:48 pm, 11/05/2009
She was not further left than the Democrat. She was a moderate, and the right wanted someone more like them. When they didn't get what they wanted in the primaries, they ran a third party candidate, and essentially gave the Democrats a seat they haven't held in about 150 years. Spin that however you want it, but that's what happened.

batman Posted 3:45 pm, 11/05/2009
the woman was further left than the democrat that's why the conservatives ditched her...you miss the whole point here....

JuanJose Posted 3:14 pm, 11/05/2009
Shibani Joshi.

kscottbailey Posted 3:13 pm, 11/05/2009
As for the Republican congresswoman, that would certainly be interesting. But it's an incredible longshot. Normally, members of congress don't move directly into a presidential candidacy.

kscottbailey Posted 3:11 pm, 11/05/2009
You DO realize that she endorsed the Democrat because the Conservative party guy was so far to the right, don't you? And the point those other people were making was that she won the primary fair and square, but the far right didn't like it, so they ran a third party candidate, effectively going from Scozzafava (who was center-right) to Owens (who is center-left), and in the process losing a seat they'd held for almost 150 years. Your logic in thinking that is a GOOD thing for the Republicans is incomprehensible.

batman Posted 3:05 pm, 11/05/2009
she was a liberal republican like spector...what did you expect?....the democrat was moderate....we are better off with her losing....you are way to wrapped up in a party label!!!

rosanna Posted 2:45 pm, 11/05/2009
I agree NC Citizen!!

marlonbrando Posted 2:27 pm, 11/05/2009
With conservative and the moderate Republicans fighting like babies during recess, no one will win!The NY congressonal race was an embarrassment. They had a candidate that was picked by the majority of the Republicans in that district, but that was not good enough for Palin, Rush, or a few other people. She did not pass their tests, and they pushed an independant candidate insulting every actual Republican in that district that duly voted. They lost a seat that had been in Republican hands for over a 100 years. What idiots fighting among themselves and losing a sure thing!!!!We need the Republicans to keep the Democrats in line, we need the Democrats to keep the Repubilcans in line. I vote for both sides, depending on the person. (You are a blooming sheep if you just vote straight party, and you are lazy). Republicans need to grow up, learn something and get their crap straight, or we all lose. Saying no to everything has worn thin. Offer something different, intelligent, and will help.

cat's meow Posted 2:24 pm, 11/05/2009
PLEASE, NOT PALIN. SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT POLITICS, AS YOU COULD SEE IN HER INTERVIEWS LAST YEAR. SHE COULD BARELY ANSWER THE QUESTIONS SHE WAS ASKED!

artpot Posted 2:13 pm, 11/05/2009
Who ever it is they need to have a level head and strong convictions and we need someone that doesn't owes allegence to half the oilmen, bankers, medical interest, and all the other special interest in the country. This goes for both parties. Unfortunately I don't think anyone like this exist anymore. You have the Palin's, Limbaught, Edwards etc. They seem to be all just made up fluff that says one thing and does another. To bad most of the other Republicans and Democrates are similiar to Limbaugh and Edwards, condecending dope addicts, liars or womanizers that take themselves all to seriously while most of the country laughs at them behind their backs.

MuddButt Posted 08:22 am, 11/05/2009
Carrie Prejean for Pres.

FOX News already loves her.

batman Posted 08:20 am, 11/05/2009
by the time obama and the liberals get done the republicans could run radio and he would win....lol

NC citizen Posted 08:18 am, 11/05/2009
I nominate Michelle Bachman, currently Congresswoman from Minnesota.

A smarter version of Sarah Palin.

She's on CNN right now making minced meat of anchor John Roberts.

Citing chapter and verse of the socialized health care bill, when questioned. Falls back on the constitution. Hard to argue with that!

Keep an eye on this rising star!

uncledaddy Posted 04:22 am, 11/05/2009
Please run Palin for prez in 2012. She's a hoot.

slug&oggie Posted 12:29 am, 11/04/2009
Ron Paul is the only one, the only hope for this country, period.

fansport Posted 10:32 pm, 11/03/2009
Hey, all of you good ole, countryaz conservative Wilkes Republicans.
Why don't any of you ever mention Mitt Romney?
Is it because he is a Mormon and doesn't use the KJV bible?

Mtnbiker Posted 9:21 pm, 11/03/2009

(I hear she never leaves home without a protective dyke)

The Great Space Wizard Posted 9:19 pm, 11/03/2009
If being gay is the worst thing Maddow has done, then liberals have nothing to worry about.
