Game wardens have been the leader of the pack when it comes to the idea that " We can go where ever we want and do whatever we want with out a warrant and without having to follow any rules." . This concept has to stop at this level. The real men and women involved with real law enforcement for the most part are above this. A strong message needs to be sent to the bottom of the barrell. Mark and his good buddies needs a good wake up call. Shame on the rabbitt cops because of what one of their boys did and then the rest of them all stuck their heads in the sand but I recall a wake up call a few years earlier with a beating of a man by a rabbit cop and the rabbitt cop was sent away. Don't these government employees have any shame or for that matter are they above the law? Do they think they are on some sort of secret mission that requires killing people? Are they instructed to save rabbitts at any cost, even the cost of human life?

LEO's deserve plenty of blame. For defending the crime, in this thread and elsewhere. For creating the atmosphere that demonizes any and all criticism of law enforcement actions (blue wall). Through lobbying for a corrupt double standard, now enshrined in NC law, whereby any investigations involving law enforcement are exempt from FOIA.
This is the clause that equally corrupt DA's THINK they can use to cover up misconduct like the Clyde Coffey homicide.
Where are all these honest cops seeking justice? Sitting on their hands?

Let me suggest some closure: The wildlife commission admits mistakes and makes reforms. This is not about LEO'S it's about game wardens. LEO'S do not deserve any part of this killing.

I believe Minton is the scapegoat in a something that is a bigger problem than he is. I blame the system more than I blame him. I feel he took a fall for those who trained him.

Part of me wants to go back in time and follow Minton around with a camera and record the violations he has encountered and his reactions and an other part of me wants to follow Clyde around with a camera and record him on his property doing whatever he did on his property.

I bet we will see some changes in the way the baiting laws are enforced. I for one think its a stupid law any way.Its dangerous for every one involved to approach a turkey hunter. There are more accidental shootings involving turkey hunters than any other hunting sport. But I still feel a warden has the right to check you on private property.

Let me help you. The safe guard is a second oponion or a blessing from a magistrate. What is wrong with getting a magistrate on your side before you dress in camo and sneak up on a grandpa in the night?
