Does it make sense that the ones pulling the strings know that to destroy America would mean destroying the incentive of the working American people and the ones who keep us working but losing so much money that they give up? Then who will work and pay the bills so the left can give out all the freebies trying to buy their allegiance and votes? This crap has been tried before with always the same result. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. And you thought all the crazy people were locked up?

Try that again as a coherent sentence

[P]ower always follows property. This I believe to be as infallible a maxim in politics, as that action and reaction are equal is in mechanics. Nay, I believe we may advance one step farther, and affirm that the balance of power in a society accompanies the balance of property in land. The only possible way, then, of preserving the balance of power on the side of equal liberty and public virtue is to make the acquisition of land easy to every member of society; to make a division of the land into small quantities, so that the multitude may be possessed of landed estates. If the multitude is possessed of the balance of real estate, the multitude will have the balance of power, and in that case the multitude will take care of the liberty, virtue, and interest of the multitude in all acts of government.

Every proprietor, therefore, of cultivated lands, owes to the community ground-rent (for I know of no better term to express the idea) for the land which he holds; and it is from this ground-rent that the fund prod in this plan is to issue.

The property owners owe rent to those who do not own property for the privilege of cultivating the land, and taking away the natural ownership that all people have...

To create a national fund, out of which there shall be paid to every person, when arrived at the age of twenty-one years, the sum of fifteen pounds sterling, as a compensation in part, for the loss of his or her natural inheritance, by the introduction of the system of landed property: And also, the sum of ten pounds per annum, during life, to every person now living, of the age of fifty years, and to all others as they shall arrive at that age.

There is an evil which ought to be guarded against in the indefinite accumulation of property from the capacity of holding it in perpetuity by corporations. The power of all corporations ought to be limited in this respect. The growing wealth acquired by them never fails to be a source of abuses."

All the property that is necessary to a Man, for the Conservation of the Individual and the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right, which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages. He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it.

Finally, there seem to be but three Ways for a Nation to acquire Wealth. The first is by War as the Romans did in plundering their conquered Neighbours. This is Robbery. The second by Commerce which is generally Cheating...

"I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations which dare already to challenge our government in a trial of strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country."

Here is another bottom line for the election. Romney says he wants to cut taxes especially that top marginal rate that people like him are supposed to pay. I say supposed to because you can see for yourself in his own tax returns that he pays no where near that.

This is a chart.
http://www.americanprogress..._chart.jpg

The wealthy don't need another ****ing tax cut. Its time to raise taxes on them. Why is it time to raise taxes on them well take a look at the chart. it ends in 2007 but these last years have been no better its over 300 now if I recall. A 300% increase in income going to just a handful of people at the top while the bottom has seen wages decline. How is that trickle down economics working?

If trickle down theory's had any merit we would expect to see all incomes rise sharply while the top of course stayed the top (that's why its the top) But we don't. In recent years 80 to 93% of all economic gains have gone to just the handful of people at the top of the pile. Its unsustainable. I pointed out in another thread these are not job creators but I can tell you what they are. Leaches sucking the economy dry.

http://www.huffingtonpost.c...d=webmail4

In response to that link someone tell her to take the rest of the trash with her.

You know the recent merger involving duke and the poor CEO lost his job. Don't feel sorry for him. His one day working with the new company netted him a pay package of 44.4 million dollars that's a pay rate of about 5.5 million an hour assuming he worked an 8 hour day. That's not past work or anything that's one days work. This same company argues it has to jack up rates on everyone to repair and replace its aging power plants. These same people declare they can't afford pensions and benefits for their workers.

Meanwhile as we allow executives who are simply managers ( We are not talking about great inventors like Steve Jobs who made millions with a great idea and a good deal of effort here we are talking about managers ) to suck out millions take a look at what is happening in Scranton PA. They are lowering the wages of police and firefighters to minimum wage.

So we have these fat *** who do minimal actual work soaking up hundreds of millions sometimes billions and now have places being forced to pay firefighters and police who are putting their lives on the line less money than it takes to actually live decently on this is a disgrace.

As long as the top of the pile keep taking and taking from economic gains while the people generating the goods and services that provide those gains get paid less then that top tax rate needs to climb.

Now I can imagine many people especially right wingers heads exploding right now but its a fairly simple function. People don't like to pay taxes and will do things to avoid it and one of the few tools proven to encourage these executives to put that money to work growing a sustainable company (which they should be doing anyway) that pays its workers well and results in better growth for everyone is to tax them more.

When this happens the results are interesting to say the least. Suddenly they take smaller pay packages for themselves and give more raises ect to production workers. Its because of a mentality present in human nature that conservatives should know well. The I can spend this money better than the government mentality. Well the funny thing is when most people in the position to decide where this money is going are given the chance they decide all or most of it is going to them. But when you stick a government in there ready to take the lions share of that money they have a sudden change of heart. Its amusing if it was not so **** sad but that's the short version of it.

Ive long proposed accomplishing the effect via the corporate tax code. Giving corporations lower rates than Romney would provided their is a balance in their pay structure so that the lowest wage worker in the company makes a living wage before any executive tops a million dollars in income or the company faces a 75% rate. I feel its a bit more fair as I really have no desire to see people like Jobs or Gates punished when the company's they created tend to my knowledge to do right by their workers even the lowest tier. But its got to be done price controls and wage controls won't do it. The only known workable way currently is with the tax code.

If we do not address the out of control disparity's in income the great depression is going to look like a time or endless prosperity. This kind of imbalance destroys markets stifles innovation kills invention and ultimately sinks all ships.

The spending cuts proposed by the GOP'hers would affect far more than just Obamacare. All social programs from SS, Medicare, Food Stamps, Housing for elderly and low income, research projects for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, infrastructure projects...virtually everything except the defense budget.

So if you're thinking healthcare is all, you might want to do some research and find out how the overall cuts will affect YOU.

Lets talk taxes. Republicans want to call the ACA penalty and premium costs a tax as its functionally the same I say give them that. But if its a tax then the premium supports are a tax cut. Under the ACA a family of 4 making 40k a year for example will be expected to have coverage and will be expected to pay part of the premium roughly $1400 worth a year (working from memory) But the cost of the plan is about $11,000 a year and in the current market with the ACA not fully implemented its not even as good a plan as the one under the ACA. Considering many family's in some way or another are already paying the $11,000 that's a significant tax cut for them over $9000 a year worth.

Romney of course wants to repeal the ACA and replace it with effectively nothing. So want to pay 9000 more a year vote for Romney.

I think it's pretty safe to say that any news media that leans right will word its articles in a biased conservative way and those that lean left will tell the same story in a biased liberal way. A safer bet is to read both, then do the research to decide what the real truth is.

The real bottom line is, do we pay more taxes to keep all the service provided now, or, do we make drastic cuts to stay at our current tax rate and EXACTLY what do those cuts include? That seems to never be addressed. Exactly what will have to go and how will it affect each of us?

Looks to me like this info in not from the Wall St. journal at all.

It clearly says the source is the ISI group.

Why do the liberal idiots always try to deflect from the truth? Because the truth makes obama look like the real "clown" in this circus.

And Ump, as always is an IDIOT.

I am very willing to pay my fair share of taxes for the services and safety that the government provides me. But, I also want everyone else to pay their fair share, including all those in the higher wage brackets that have been well blessed with tax loopholes that have allowed them to escape paying all they should to contribute more fairly to our economy, AND, those that have operated on a cash only basis for years, paid little to no taxes, and are still enjoying all the same benefits that our tax dollars are giving the remainder of us.

I am in favor of a complete overhaul of the tax system and I believe that President Obama would and will compromise on any bill that is fair and equitable for everyone. It's easy to say he declined to accept bills that are passing in the House, but the devil is in the details. Those bills had either pork that was trying to be smuggled in, or, contained legislation that the Dems are squarely opposed to with no room for compromise on the part of the Repubs. Compromise requires BOTH parties getting some of what they want, and, BOTH parties giving up some of what they want, for the good of the whole country.

The Wall Street Journal is owned and operated by Rupert Murdock. It is amazing how you clowns can only get your information from him, and Limbaugh or Beck.

Canes, has your taxes went up the past three years? Didn't think so. Now look at the Republican agenda and tell us how they are going to bring the deficit in line by giving the top one-percenters a tax break.
