I just got my Friday paper and read it. This is obscene. Their store is filled with Chinese crap; and he gets millions of dollars?

Crypt raises hand and requests permission to answer: As the astronomical salary of these "CEO's" rise, so do their ego's and they forget from whence they came.

This makes the second year in a row that the hourly employees at the Import Center have not had a raise, and we didn't get one about five years ago. As a large company like lowes, how can you give part of your people a raise and not the rest of them ?

If I know exactly what I need I might go to Lowes, but if I what I am doing will require a company with competent management I go to Home Depot.

Lowes isn't the company it was 20 years ago thats for sure

What I HAVEN'T seen anyone mention is the millions of dollars that have been given to NASCAR/Hendrick/Jimmy Johnson in the past while employees get piddly a** increases each year IF they get one at all. And I know this to be true because I have family member that have worked there. Thank GOD in heaven they have moved on, found better jobs and don't depend on this company any longer!!

Why do liberals make such a big deal out of a successful business person's salary when there are lot's of actors and actresses that makes a lot more money?




Let's see, the executive works for a company that employs thousands of people while the actors / actresses entertains thousands of people. I'd say the country would be better off with more highly paid executives and less highly paid actors / actresses.

this is a Board Decision to give a raise...its how business has been run for decades....having worked for another company that had laid off some 45 thousand people in one year .... and the company gave the CEO I recall a two million dollar bonus....when the workers got a pink slip.... again this was a board decision...which in many cases are other CEO's are sitting members.....look it up....do I agree with this....not my place to say...but hire more people at the Stores to give customer service better than it is now....just my opinion.....

Apples and oranges. The major sports organizations (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) don't hire anybody. The indvidual teams pay the athletes a salary, but they are classified as independent contractors.

And the rest of this thread makes me chuckle. Most of you are so far in the uninformed status that it makes this thread to look like a comedy novel.

There is no job on this earth that deserves that kind of pay.

Does he pay for his own health insurance out of that?
