The biggest town issues we have in North Wilkesboro are the commissioner I would not give either one air in a jug **** they don't want nothing in this town this is a deadbeat town just like the commissioners

The manager makes recommendations. He has no authority to spend money. That belongs to the commissioners. He has made some recommendations that fortunately were not listened too.

More accurately, expenditures meet their revenue. Which is admirable. But higher available revenue would better allow North Wilkesboro to develop and be a more attractive merger candidate w/ Wilkesboro.

The revenue in North Wilkesboro is good. The revenue meets their expenditures. They have a strong fund balance. Things can always be better, but in no way is the town hurting.

More an issue with lack of revenue than actual debt. Wilkesboro benefits greatly from the business strip along 421. N. Wilkesboro doesn't have anything close to that amount of
business revenue (tax) within its city limits.

I agree. It's long overdue for the two towns to merge. Problem is . . . . North Wilkesboro has little to offer Wilkesboro beside debt. If both would look forward, they would realize the long term benefits of a merge.

Merging North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro into one should have been done years ago.
Downtown North Wilkesboro is getting depressing to look it. The old American Drew property looks better than all of downtown and it's just a bunch of roads and sidewalks. Absolutely no business diversity (or businesses at all) are being attracted to downtown. The town needs to make use of some of the vacant buildings/property around downtown. There was a plan for the old American Drew site to include a movie theater and a shopping center. D Street near the hospital desperately needs widening and repaving. Pedestrian crosswalk signals are needed throughout downtown and near the hospital. The street lights and stop lights all need repainting and updating. The list goes on and on and on and this only includes downtown.

You people that live in north wilkesboro voted for the clowns you have running your town. It's all your fault. Don't like it, vote the crooked *** town board out. Simple fix

the idiot they have for polce chief I a big problem in n.w. what ever happened to people like d. felts, k. gentry r. Rhodes? people who had the respect of the citizens. most in n.w. wouldn't piss on their police chief if his eyebrows were on fire much less respect him.he's a clown with a power problem and the people have let him run businesses out of n.w. rankin sucs!

why does every idiot,midget and fat *** with a ble certificate work for the n.w. police? they have that little black guy and the little guy named wolfe the 2 together couldn't hold down a female that weighed over 120 lbs. then they have 3-4 that are too fat and lazy to work anywhere else. no wonder it takes 2 or 3 to write a ticket.alot of people don't even shop in n.w. since the stop sign and road checks. screw n.w. and everyone in it.i hope they have to pay higher taxs for nothing.

Boring . Its unappealing to anyone under 65. That why everyone moved to mooresville. For More..... When you cant keep your youth in the county eventually noone will be left.

The traffic lights were already in place costing less than $100 each per year. A town has to have at least 25 traffic lights to be a town.If the Wilkesboros combined don't have 50 plus lights we have no choice but to merge the two towns and rename it Cryptville.

yep here we go again this downtown is all to **** my concern is the fire chief has a fire car he is retired from the town the town gives him a fire car + $16,000 a year and a gas card he gets to drive this home and anywhere else he may want to I can understand the fire department having a car but only if firemen are going to school or it is needed during service now look what that cause the good old citizens of North Wilkesboro's tax payers, they have never had a Fire Chief's car before now and look what it costed to mark that car up me aning Decal's red lights, siren, radios and so on. I guess them dead beat commissioner think this is New York City with plenty of money. I'm a North Wilkesboro citizens and people I want y'all to realize we do need new commissioner and we need them nowall 5 commissioner that is and mayor
