Yep a transfer to a new district patrolling muddy roads is what they'll get.

I could not being to tell you where to find that info... The State can and will modify/ fine-tune any contract they need so its plays out to their advantage . Right...Wrong...Fair it doesn't matter when it comes to the State.

It was all verbal like when I promised my first wife that I'd fly her to the moon in a helicopter. Even if a contract had been signed the max this state has to pay out would be $150,000. Do you really think any State would allow itself to be bankrupted by a class action law suit. All these Troopers are going to end up with is **** detail.

Just-in-case, can you show me any type of proof that breach of contract laws do not apply to the state? I've been looking and can't find any precedent of that.

If that's true, just-in-case, then how can that be fair? What would be the point of ever signing a contract with the state if they can just change their mind on a whim?

Maybe that's what the lawsuit is trying to change.

I wish someone would give me a raise. Anyone know any hawt, young things that may help an old man out?

just-in-case

then the state failing to do so is a breech of contract. Right or wrong, if the state signed it then they have to do it.

Wrong...this is the State were talking about here so breech of contract does not apply to the State. They can say and do as they please.
All they have to say is there were no money for the raises...end of discussion.

I think they should get a Raise according to all the number Citations they write to all Moped Riders and the number of Mopeds they put off the Road.

If you are going to "quote" facts, get them straight. From the HIghway Patrol web site

Your quote specifically said Highway Patrol troopers. Mine referred to all sworn officers.

Please explain what troopers do that they deserved two raise's compared to one for other employees.

Personally, I think that the salary and raise should be based on education and job performance for all employees, so a 5% raise on top of any other state raise simply isn't logical.

BUT!!! If that's what they were promised when they signed on, and if contracts were signed, then the state failing to do so is a breech of contract. Right or wrong, if the state signed it then they have to do it.

According to the 2008 Census, NC had 23,442 officers, at an average salary of $39,000:

The State Highway Patrol has more than 1,600 troopers who cover 78,000 miles of North Carolina roadways, more than any other state except Texas. In addition to enforcing the state's traffic laws, State troopers also guide traffic during hurricane evacuations, re-route traffic around hazardous chemical spills, and they stand ready, should any act of terrorism occur.

Joseph must have one heck of a criminal record the way he is always bashing cops. If the lazy teachers of NC deserve a raise then the troopers deserve two. If it wasn't for LEOs our country would look like the wild west but some of you boneheads will never get it.

Actually I have a clean record and hold a valid NC CHP having passed a local, State, and FBI background check.

Please explain what troopers do that they deserved two raise's compared to one for other employees. Don't try to claim it is a dangerous job because it has already been shown that its not even in the top ten and that many other workers that make your day to day life better have a more dangerous job. Even the Trash collector has a more dangerous job than a NC trooper who's main job is speed enforcement.

Lets remember some things the troopers do lets not forget the one that cause a accident in Watauga county while driving almost 100MPH with no lights or sirens. The same one who ran a stop sign and caused another accident in Wilkes not to long ago. Then there was the ones down state that were pulling over women and extorting sex from them to get out of a traffic ticket that was most likely bogus to start with. Then there are the few that I have had a personal experience with one in Ashe who wrote me a warning ticket for not wearing a seatbelt while I was wearing said seatbelt. Then there was the one that tried to write me a ticket for no tags on my farm truck when I crossed the highway to get to land on the other side., He was rude and unprofessional and when I showed him the NC General Statute that proved he was wrong he threw a fit that would have made a two year child proud.

Let me mention the one in Wilkes that made a U-turn on 16 in heavy traffic almost causing and accident to pull me over for not wearing a seatbelt for which I have a medical excuse. Then there are the one's that we have all seen time and time again that are speeding down the road only to pull in to some restaurant to meet their butt buddies for lunch or dinner.

These are just some examples that I can think of and I'm sure everyone has or knows of other unprofessional conduct by the NC troopers.

I'd fire them for insubordination. What are they spending $40,000 per yr on? I could buy 50 mopeds with that much money and still live pretty good.

When Republicans are in office, they almost always put a freeze on all raises. It's one of the ways that they make it look like the budget has improved. Democrats give a 3% raise every year, so when Republicans cut that then it looks like we saved 3%.

According to the 2008 Census, NC had 23,442 officers, at an average salary of $39,000:

http://www.newsmax.com/Fast...id/659484/

That's a total of $914,238,000. Give a 5% raise across the board, and it goes up to $959,949,900; a difference of $45,711,900.

The state claimed a surplus of $400 million last year, and now you can see why. Stop giving a cost of living raise to employees, and suddenly it looks like you have a surplus... but that surplus is on the backs of the employees.

All military recruiters lie: " Oh yes women will be waiting in line for you down at Paris Island"
All employers lie: "Oh there might be a mandatory weekend shift once in a blue moon"
Did the Troopers actually believe they would receive a 5% raise every year regardless of their job performance?

While I'm here I'll throw this in. Troopers get a lot of secret benefits. Even the short pudgy bald ones seem to have more girlfriends than George Clooney.
