Uh....I don't think we're in the habit of asking each other where we live. Personally, I wouldn't ask and I wouldn't tell.

Did you buy the house behind Tyson. I just know it closed this week and was just curious.

Welcome to wilkesboro. Vet, second street hill. Anything medical leave town or suffer the consequences. Not all but for the most part the bottom of the barrel of medical workers get shipped here. If you like to drink we have the best shine around, period. Other than leading the nation in over doses and unemployment it's a great place

To the OP, judging by your screen name you obviously like cats. Hopefully they are indoor because coyotes have become more plentiful in recent years, and several of my friends cats have disappeared in the last few years. Pretty sure coyotes got them, and this was a development in Wilkesboro in the city limits. Better keep an eye on them kitties.

Decsurvey, one doesn't need to work in Wilkes to live in Wilkes. Hickory is only an hour or so down the road. Mooresville isn't all that far either. We've been finding it no big deal to make the drives. Shoot, my commute used to be 3 hours each way before I moved down here.

Wilkes County has a lot of natural beauty to be found. For anyone who likes to take a drive, the countryside is a good place to go. There is much beautiful farmland and it's nice in every season, although the autumn colors are my favorite.

You can hangout near W. Kerr Scott lake or the Yadkin River for a picnic lunch or to roast hot dogs at sunset.

The mountains are within very easy driving distance as is the parkway. Even after several decades, seeing the sights along the parkway or other vantage points is always a pleasure to the eyes.

As for the coast, you can drive there in about half a day. That's nice for a change of scenery too.

We have a second home close to Purlear. We spend every summer there and love it. It isn't fancy, but good for my husband and me. As for it being hot, it is much cooler than our South Carolina place. We don't have much money, husband is on disability. have met some great people and some not so great, which is the case every where. Also, good jobs are hard to find most places. Start out with a positive attitude and go from there. Enjoy our wonderful beautiful Wilkes County,NC

Wow, you guys sure are painting a pretty picture for LoveMyCats of Wilkes County. It's a nice place to live IF you have a good job or money. I'm assuming if you bought a home then you probably have a job, and can ignore the sensitive topic of jobs. If not, I have to agree with the general consensus. Good jobs are scarce to say the least.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to move here. To each their own.

Pam is a P.A. who works in a doctor's office. I guess I should have said Medical: Pam Myers.
