Smalltown, for many years I did freelance photography for a few publications. Saw more than one pompous, egotistical photographer abusing their press credentials. They think they are more important than anyone else there.
There are two sides to every story.

I did not go because of the heat, but heard it was a great show. Hate I missed it.

They did not allow people to come up and take photos of Jackson. However, with other acts, they were controlling people more than in the past. But it is very distracting when you pay to sit up front, to have people passing by so much to take photos. They should control it even more.

Great article Smalltownman, thanks for sharing that. I fortunately don't know " dame Judy Wench" , but would hazard a guess she suffers from big fish, little pond, power trip syndrome. It happens a lot when average people are put in charge of something and get too full of themselves. It is a rampant problem among law enforcement for example.
It's a shame things like this and other issues with the festival are going to end up ruining Wilkes big claim to fame.

Usually the artists play whatever they have just released and being that Alan Jackson has just released a bluegrass CD then it would be prudent to expect that he would play his new music which is bluegrass.

I recall Hootie and the Blowfish, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Zac brown band. I do not associate these performers with just bluegrass music.

I have seen a lot of comments on FB out this being a disappointing performance. However, if you are going to a blue grass festival, you should expect the artists to likely be playing....wait for it....blue grass.

What Rod said may be True. Alan only had one member of his Original Band playing Thursday night. The Band that was playing with him was the Band that was in his New Blue Grass Video.

| The college did not want to cough up the dough for his country set, so you got the bluegrass set instead
