AC is one of the best around as far as custom guns!! As into not shooting them before it leaves i have to say with family living close to him and knowing him he shoots every gun that comes out of his shop I hear them complain every time i'm around them because he shoots all the time!! If he did crappy work I don't think he would still be in business for all these years with repeat customers. Win 308 If you want to see my super rock chucker that he built i'll let you anytime and if you want to know more about him IM me and i'll give you my number so I can help you out with the info.

Take your money and do it right the frist time,I sold my light 1000 yard gun to a guy that had A.C. build his $3,000+ gun that was done only half way, he paid for things that was not done to the gun (blueprinting the action) & sveral other things that add up. I once had boss that had A.C. build him a custom hunting type rifle to take out west in a 7MM A.C. told him it was done so he got the gun home started shooting it and the gun would pattern like a shotgun at 100yrds, he took the gun back to him to find out that A.C. had put a 7MM chamber in a 30cal. barrel & had not shot the gun to try it out, he ended up with a high $$$300 mag that after his trip hunting he had to almost give away to get rid of, THANK ABOUT THAT BEFORE YOU PUT $4000 INTO A CUSTOM A.C. GUN

Baity is too backed up for my time frame. Anyone know anything about Mr. Coffee in Boone? What Im wanting to build is a heavy bench gun on a Hall action, Mcmillan stock,Jewel trigger,Schillen bbl.,Leupold target 45x45 scope. I know $4K sounds like alot to spend on a gun to most people but this is my passion and I dont question people about what they do with there money if it makes you happy.

IN MY TRAILER PARK WE JUST GO OUT AND STEAL ANOTHER ONE, OR BARTER SOME OXY OR WEED.

Your OP was worded rather vaguely to be kind. I own a few guns but am far from an enthusiast. Even I know to ask SMK or some of the others for advice. I might want to avoid his church but I have no doubt he knows his weapons

Joe, I agree, Baity's probably has the best reputation in Wilkes.

That is a chunk of change.

What are you building ?

Is that for the gun too or do you have to supply the gun ?

I'm a simple kind of man and for that price I tend to favor an Accuracy International, a Sako or maybe a Tac-Ops in a tactical rifle. If you are looking for a bench rest gun then that is not my game in general. I would recommend asking 168AMAX for his opinion. I have heard that he is a good gun smith but I don't know from first hnd experience.

I guess the question is what do you expect for your money. You can get a 1/2 minute angle gun for less. Are you looking for custom stock work, engraving and decoration or are you looking for accuracy ?

I assume that you are a good shot and you know that a high dollar gun does not make a highly skilled shooter.

I'm afraid I am no help either. I'm just throwing a few things out there to think about.

S4B
Last initial being brains. If you're putting that kinda cash on the line and don't know enough already about guns and reputable gun enthusiasts in the area who can help ... I think S4B pretty much says it

You ask knowledgeable people, not random strangers S4B

Did I ask about his religion?

grimey

Posted 12:08 pm, 03/02/2012

I heard he is baptist. He does not do service every Sunday and he does use grape juice and wheat thins for communion so if you are not into that, I suggest you try another church...
