It looks deep from the road. I'm going to stop and throw some money in and make a wish.

Drove by there earlier today to see what all the commotion is about.. Yes it's a hole no it's not that big.. Might be deeper than it is big. But I didn't feel like stopping to look and see and snap a picture. It's a baby hole compared to some that have been showing up lately.

DOT has nothing to do with this hole.

Has anyone actually walked up to it to see how deep it is?

City/state wlmonly repair what is within the r/w. Anything outside the r/w is the responsibility of the land owner or developer.

Aging infrastructure starting to show its age. Most drainage pipes have a life of about 60 years metal or concrete. All the improvements made in the 40's into the 60's is beginning to fail across the country and it will get worse.

NC has redone the formula for distributing road money so that more goes to the bigger cities so the roads in the westen part of the state will see less funding and more aging with failures.

If you turned up at Wendy's off of 115 then you were not down far enough. It is at the very bottom of the hill.

They won't work on it until it collapses. It would be smart for them to pump in sand to fill the hole forming, but why would they pay to prevent it when they can make the taxpayers "improve" it

Believe that is on private property. State won't repair it if it is. Dumping sand in it is a very bad idea. That pipe was placed in there to carry water off. If I remember correctly, when the truck stop was there, up behind it was a valley/large ditch. That may be the source of the water.

I came by there yesterday and they aren't even working on it to try and fix it.
