That's the NC gas tax. Our tax is 56.2, where SC is only 35.2, so our gas will always be at least $0.21 higher. |
Kayla's exactly right on this one. Smalltown, the gas tax in Virginia is 35.7, so if the price difference is less than 20 cents then the gas company is making more of a profit than the ones in Wilkes. According to the gas page, it's $3.43 in Wilkes right now, so the stations in VA were actually charging a penny more than the ones in Wilkes.

$3.24 @ both Marathon in Stuart and Exxon in Dry Pond VA yesterday.

Was traveling to Maryland over the weekend, saw an Exxon in Virginia at $3.09 a gallon. Wilkes republitards are getting richer off working folks.

$3.19 in Hillsville V. week in Yadkinville higher than any other town avoid them buy gas else where.

Maybe the rent is higher at the one in Hays? I know the rent in Elkin is cheaper, which is why they have cheaper gas.
Or the one in Cricket could get a discount for selling more.

I noticed that price for regular unleaded at the Grocery Bag in Hays has been $3.54 9/10 for over a week while the Grocery Bag is Cricket area has been $3.49 9/10. Both are CITGO stations and the distributor should be the same. Wonder if the people in that area are getting hosed without the Vaseline. Gas in Elkin wuz $3.37 9/10 yesterday.
