Crook, it depends on the type of haunting. The theory is that most ghosts remain with the property, although they lose energy and may eventually just fade away.

There's nothing technically forcing a ghost to stay on the property, though, it's just where they have the strongest emotional attachment. So if you take away the emotional attachment then they can really go anywhere they want.

The only place in this area that is probably the old Davis Hospital in Statesville.I went thru that area about dusk a couple years back.Looks like the windows were missing and the curtains were blowing outside the Windows. It looked haunting to me.

That's a good question, where do ghosts go when their home is destroyed?

I am 71 and lived across from Dr. Miles and this is the first I ever heard of ghosts being this close by . the house is still there but falling in not been liveable for several ,years his Grandson they raised owns the property but lives elsewhere. Please tell me more .If you did not want to wait his wife would get you fifty cents or a dollar or two of a little white bag of pill . His yard would be parked full every day I had lots of good memeories of riding to school and playing and watching T. V.

The Ghost should be in the neighborhood or vicinity of the old house!

The haunting story is definitely true. Researchers from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine confirmed the presence of numerous ghosts about a decade ago. You can read about it in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Dr Miles was a very good and caring man. I remember going into his office and seeing those gallon jugs of the different colored pills.I always heard the pills were colored various candy pills, helped chronic complainers out ?

It's called Doctor Miles Rd or Dr Miles Rd and it's located on the Champion Mt Pleasant a mile or so past the school. The road turns left and comes back our on Dragway Rd just below the dragstrip. My parents took me to see him when I was about 6 or 7 years old. He was a really nice man.
