So we're blaming a mayor of a local municipality for a state law?

BEWARE, the liberal speech police are out again! Can't talk about that right now, what with the media dogs leading the narrative.

Great time to bring up a bigoted thread against the LGBT community, what with 50 LGBT folks in Orlando dead because of bigotry.

Excellent timing.

One way or another the Mayor of Charlotte will try to make us feel sorry for HB2, never mind all the women and children who will feel and be safer. Guess they don't matter..? This is not about trans and gays but to push things forward the 'plight of trans and gays' will be highlighted when really something else is taking place and made possible. Thank you Pat McCrory!

Yes, screw the cost. Who needs those pesky service industry jobs or the tax revenue. Who needs to provide equal rights? Nah, screw everyone.

All the hooyah about gay and transgender rights is not really about gay and transgender rights. This was used by perverts, pedophiles and sex offenders to get new laws made to give them more rights to women and children...thats all. And I say...screw the cost. Women and children are deserving of protection...especially children!!!!!!

Thank you Pat McCrory for HB2. I know you ain't perfect but you did that one right!

The Charlotte mayor is just following the Democrat plan of forcing everyone to be dependent on the Federal government. She must be impeached.

Jennifer Roberts Can't Name A Single City That Has Adopted Same Transgender Bathroom Ordinance

Charlotte Mayor Admits She Followed Lead Of "National Organizations," Hasn't Read Other Ordinances

Raleigh, N.C. – Despite repeatedly telling the public and media that she was following the lead of over 200 cities in passing the ordinance that was overturned by a bipartisan vote of the General Assembly, she failed to name one city who had adopted the same open bathroom provision in Charlotte's ordinance when asked by WFAE's Mike Collins radio show, Charlotte Talks. After being pressed by the host to name other cities, Mayor Roberts finally admits that she hasn't read or studied the ordinances other cities have passed and was following the lead of "national organizations" in pushing for the open bathroom ordinance in Charlotte.

After the bathroom ordinance failed to pass the city council in 2015, Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts insisted in bringing it up for a second vote despite warnings from concerned business owners, residents and state officials. After the ordinance passed the city council, it was revealed that one of the lead activists who pushed for the non-discrimination ordinance is a registered and convicted sex offender.

"Despite telling people for months that she is following the lead of cities and towns who have passed similar bathroom ordinances without any problems, Jennifer Roberts finally comes clean and admits she has been following the lead of far-left national organizations all along," said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the North Carolina Republican Party. "North Carolinians expect its leaders at all levels of government to listen to the people they represent, not mislead them into following the agenda of Washington, D.C. special interests groups."

Oh! I see, Republicans started all this. Very interesting and Graystory got it all on one screen.

Even the Chamber of Commerce, a Republican PAC, is asking for McCrory to reconsider:

They said that new business interest is down 69% as compared to last year.

I'm not sure how far you have to stretch this to blame it on the mayor of Charlotte. This one is completely on McCrory and state Congress.

"Democrat Mayor causes economic woes for Charlotte"

If not for the individual posting this, I'd think that it was intended to be satire. The "HB2" legislation is actually a direct contradiction of what the leaders in Charlotte wanted. In fact, the legislation was pushed through because the Republican led North Carolina General Assembly (our state version of the U.S. Congress) wanted to take a stand against Charlotte's City Council. Essentially, Charlotte's City Council said, we're going to make things equal for people in the LGTB community and the Republican led General Assembly said we'll be ****ed if we'll let that happen. McCrory was helped to rush the legislation through and signed it into law.

The mayor in Charlotte was reported to have been trying to contact McCory at the time because she was very worried about the moral and economic implications, most immediately notable was the potential PayPal jobs that were at stake, but McCrory apparently wasn't taking calls at that time. Not only was Charlotte's mayor not responsible, she tried to talk some sense into and stop the man that ultimately signed it into law.

"What a shame. Vote you some more tards in, Charlotte"

Republicans are responsible for this law. Republicans lead the North Carolina House and the North Carolina Senate. They drafted the Bill. The Bill was signed into law by the Republican North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory. The folks that actually represent Charlotte, their city council's prior legislation was the exact opposite of the "HB2" legislation that was passed. Although there were a handful of democrats that sided with the orchestrators of the Bill, make no mistake, this legislation is a Republican product. To suggest anything otherwise is an outright lie.

actually Charlotte is more of a liberal city as is Raleigh. Check the last election results. Charlotte and Raleigh both heavily favored Obama in the last presidential election while the remainder of NC voted mostly republican.
