63% Labor participation rate.
Which is "okay" considering where we were 7 years ago. And we have more retired people now

What was the participation rate? The last time I looked it was only 47%, an all time low.

Yeah no doubt stopping long term insurance did motivate some people. I just worry about those that did need it that got it taken away

Ok. I think we are saying the same thing in different ways.
Somebody else please chime in.

Tha'ts not what USA Today said. They are stating that stopping Long Term Unemployment Insurance MIGHT be ONE PART of the reason for the drop.
I think you're confusing Long Term Unemployment with Long Term Unemployment insurance.

That's exactly what the original post was about. Unemployment dropped because long term unemployment was stopped.

Sure did.
And out of all the levels of unemployment the biggest drop came from those who were unemployed longer than 6 months. And that's according to your USA Today article you posted

The USAToday article states the the cutting of long-term unemployment insurance COULD be ONE factor but not that it is the only factor.
Here's the quote:
Some of those who lost benefits likely accepted relatively low-paying jobs they previously rejected, though others stopped looking for work and so were no longer counted as unemployed
And another quote
A Federal Reserve research paper last month found that a decline in long-term unemployment accounts for nearly all of this year's drop in the unemployment rate. It has fallen to 6.1% from 6.7% in December.
That means the falling unemployment rate is mainly coming from the longterm unemployment numbers.

How about USA today.
A Federal Reserve research paper last month found that a decline in long-term unemployment accounts for nearly all of this year's drop in the unemployment rate. It has fallen to 6.1% from 6.7% in December.

Washington Times is as conservative as the Huffington Post is liberal. Neither should be paid attention to at all as they will stretch any truth to their own goals.

Cutting unemployment didn't create jobs. Jobs increased countrywide. NC increased jobs with the country. Cutting unemployment just meant some people had to take parttime work in the meantime.

Liberals said it be disastrous but it helped to add close to 70% of jobs in 2014. Now say thanks to the republicans.
