Child Protective Services and Social Services dropped the ball on this one if the child had 250 scars on his body at the time of death. Did none of them notice the sad shepe he was in early on enough to have saved him? May he rest in peace. Hope he is running through fields of flowers with sunshine overhead and loving arms outstretched to embrace and care for him.

When the paramedics arrived on July 26, 2004 they found the boy in full rigor mortis. There were dirty bandages on his body. Reports from the autopsy indicated that many of the cuts the child had sustained were infected at the time of his death. The starvation, infections, and pneumonia he was suffering from all contributed to his death.
When Davontae was taken to the morgue, he was found with over 250 scars on his body. It was evident that he had been beaten and starved. His condition was not recent, showing signs that he had been neglected, beaten, bound, and starved for years. Lisa denied that she had starved the boy, saying that she had given him nutrition drinks. He weighed in at 35 pounds, half the weight of a normal nine-year-old child, leaving no possibility for anyone to think he was not malnourished.

When Marcella and Lisa were arrested for the child's murder, each was given the chance at a plea agreement. Marcella chose to take the agreement, pleading guilty to the crime and thereby avoiding the death penalty. Lisa chose not to take the plea and went to trial instead. It would be two years after the death of the Davontae, in June of 2006, before the jury would find her guilty. She was then sentenced to death. She is one of ten women residing on Death Row in Texas. Appeals to reduce her sentence have been denied.
Lisa Coleman sits on Death Row in a prison in Tarrant County, Texas for beating, neglecting, and starving 9-year-old Davontae Williams. She and the boy's mother, Marcella, were both arrested for the crime. They had been torturing and mistreating the child for some time, as indicated by the numerous calls and visits from Child Protective Services and Social Services. Lisa received the death penalty for her part and all appeals have been denied.

Why would anybody bother SCOTUS with this? I don't like the death penalty much, but I wouldn't do 10 seconds of work to save this #$%$'s life. She tortured and starved this kid to death for no apparent reason except it made her feel in charge. Frankly, I wish we could take more out of her than just giving her a painless and quick lethal injection.

How long does it take to starve a nine year old? Weeks ,monthes ? I'd say more than one person guilty of this in this case.
