I won't completely bash Atlanta because there are things that make it an okay city, but Atlanta is completely overrated and Charlotte isn't given enough credit for what it actually has. I also agree with you saying Charlotte is cleaner. VERY cleaner. It seems to always create a big fuss over which city is better, so of course I had to ask GoWilkes.

There's certain times of day when you do not want to be near Atlanta. Honestly, I've seen times when the bypasses and beltways were worse than the main routes through Atlanta. And God forbide they have an ice storm, you're not going anywhere for a couple of days...until they get all the "dead bodies" of cars and trucks from off the shoulders and out of the ditches.

In terms of city population, not metro. But honestly, metro population doesn't really give Atlanta the better name because Atlanta is the capital of the state. If Charlotte we're the capital of North Carolina, I'm sure the metro population would be much higher.
& everyone talks about how bad Atlanta traffic is... when you try and put two major interstates on the same road, um yeah traffic is going to be he**.

From the stats, you are right, but, from actually being there, Atlanta seems a lot bigger and more congested. Maybe the stats aren't counting all the suburbs of Atlanta??

Charlotte definitely. Even though it is a good sized city, it still has a ways to go before being as big and populated as Atlanta. Traveling around Charlotte is much easier than getting around in Atlanta. Also, Charlotte is much cleaner. JMO
