The PH of water you drink needs to be around 7.4 with the minerals still in it and the dissolved oxygen intact and should never touch plastic. The Evian water OC mentioned costs almost a dollar an ounce and comes from the the Swiss Alps. They claim it filtered down through the mountain's layers for 15 yrs. before reaching their bottles. Glad I don't drink bottled water.

Also love my tea. As I only have a dorm-sized refrigerator I make 2 quarts of tea with two family size tea bags and put it in the frig. Don't need ice in it. Its cold enough. I make it with water from my pitcher with the Brita water filter. I rarely buy bottled water unless there is no other way to get water. Used to drink Dasani but would wash the bottles over and use them again but noticed the bottles' color getting lighter and lighter. ?No bleach was used.

I believe the pitcher type filtbut ers usually have a carbon and cloth or paper type median that should remove large suspended particles like iron and they probably help with odors, but I don't believe they will remove all the chlorine, pesticides etc.

I hate the taste of chlorine in the city water and hope to someday get our well going. Let me know how that process goes for you Elmo.

Lordy Lordy, I'm reading about all this filtered and bottled water, and I'm still drinking out of the branch! I guess I'll never catch up with the times.

my house is connected to a water service. i really do not like the taste of chlorine in my water. that is the biggest reason i filter it. someday i am going to reconnect the well that is here on my property.

I guess I don't have a very sophisticated palate. I like tap water just fine.

i have been using a brita filter for years. makes the best coffee and sun tea. cheaper than the bottles and no storage required. i keep a few gallons on bottled water in my basement in case of emergency

Do NOT drink distilled water regularly. It will kill you.

Get yourself a pitcher with a filter inside like Brita or Pur. That way, you can save Mother Nature hundreds of plastic bottles to deal with. Recycling is okay, but the only real answer is to reduce our use of plastics as much as we possibly can.

I have an extra water filter on my ice maker/water dispenser. It takes all the chlorine taste from my water and it tastes as good as bottled imo.
