I just found this thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share it to see if anyone knows anything about it.

Has anyone on here had this shop make a custom gun barrel? I've been looking on the web and just about all of the factory barrels I own are discontinued. Will that make them go up in value? I like the old calibers like the 45 70 gov but everyone wants the new calibers. With modern ammunition like the Hornady Leverrevolution these old calibers have new life.

I have heard this guy is good with encores and contenders.

Leonard Baity is going nowhere unless he wants to. He has more business than he could ever want. The store front retail on Boone Trail is not his living. I talked to Leonard about a year ago and he wanted retire at some point. He has such a reputation in 6mm Bench Rest, 1911's, his Custom Actions, and now the .22 stuff that he could sell his name and never work another day.

Can Baity's cut a custom Encore barrel? I've found some shops that can build Encore barrels to custom specs but they are a long way off. If I had a problem with how a custom gun shot I would want to see the builder in person. I've always wanted a fluted bullbarrel chambered in 6.5 but they don't have a factory offering.

James Coffee in Boone has quit building guns so Baity will probably get some of his customers.

He has built 3 1000 yard rifles for me and they are all shooters. And if I had to bet my life on a gun it would be the 1911 he built for me

I apologize for going so off topic. As far a baitys goes iv had no experience with their work because of the lead times but iv heard much more good than bad.

I think im begining to notice some loss myself amax if their is background noise i cant hear my name being called out its all just one big roar. But iv also put several rounds down range and lots of rock concerts
