Another Cop shot!

leo(law enforcement officer)

FYI,

In my opinion, all of this is not a race issue, it is not a gun issue, it is not a socioeconomic issue or anything else,,,,,,it boils down to a RESPECT issue or rather the lack thereof, people have little to no respect for themselves, so how can we expect them to have any respect at all for others. Not all LEO's are good people or good officers, the same with any profession, it is a very small percentage of LEO's who do not belong. The same can be said of society, not all are good people, not all will do harm to another, however a small percentage will kill and maim for the heck of it. We have became the United States of the Offended. I'm just glad time is almost done.

People have owned guns for hundreds of years. Sure there have been shootings in history but it seems much more common now. Shootings have become more common but the fact that people own guns hasn't really changed much. I think it's the people more than the guns and I'm almost positive that even if there were no more guns people would still find a way to kill each other.

A pretty famous "Sniper" once said.. at the end of the day as long as there's two people left on the planet, someone is going to want someone dead.

Guns have always been a part of American Culture every since day one. I remember very well seeing guns in the parking lot at High School. All the guys had a gun especially during hunting seasons. You're right nobody thought the first thing about it and nobody touched them either. I also remember coming up to visit my grand parents and they'd be gone to Church or something, we'd get there walk right in. The doors unlocked and nobody thought a thing about it.

That's not saying things didn't happen, they just didn't happen often and when they did whomever did it paid for their actions. I can remember very well seeing Chain Gangs on the sides of the roads digging ditches by hand or picking up trash or whatever needed doing, they worked and they didn't get paid for it either.

I talked to a couple of those dudes wearing chains a couple of times they told me, kid you don't want to be here. For some reasons that stuck, I did not want to be there.

Nowadays that would be considered abusive treatment. Maybe it was but a lot of those men didn't go back to the chain gangs, they didn't go back to jail 150 times for the same crime either.

Guns have been a part of our culture since I've been alive.

When I was in high school at W. High, it was common to see guns on a rack in back of pickups.
They were everywhere. No one thought one thing about it.

And now GUNS are the problem? Nothing has changed about guns,, it's the people who've done the changing.

And I won't go into how we could all sleep with our doors unlocked, and keys in you car, no worries.

And you claim our country isn't going to ****. pssst.

a good point. i should have been specific to just crazy people because there is a high percentage of people that plain have no regard for life.... they're not crazy. they are evil

Elmo, I don't think all these people are crazy either, I think that's just the Lawyers playing to get their clients off. Maybe some of them are nutters but some of these pukes are just mean as **** and have no regard for human life.

Something is really seriously going on, drugs, violent games, movies, who knows. It just seems some people do not see the consequences of killing anything. It doesn't matter what it is, they'll kill it without blinking an eye.

Those are the ones you got to worry about...

i agree guitar. my entire family are gun owners because they are hunters. guns are not the issue. but crazy irresponsible people with guns are a very big issue with me.

This thread isn't about guns but since that was brought up. FYI It's a thread about people being killed for whatever reasons. Racial or otherwise. I personally do not see these killings as a Gun Issue at all. It's something different or maybe a combination of things. I do not know the causes of why people are acting out in violent ways and apparently nobody else does either so they look for things to blame it on. Guns just happen to be the easiest thing at the moment. Blaming guns or trying to pass more laws isn't going to fix this problem. It has gotten worse and worse over the past 40 years.

That being said, I believe the people of the United States have a right to own a gun or guns. With owning a firearm of any kind comes a great responsibility, 1000's of gun laws are already in place, I don't see making more will help either so, I just don't it's been done and done again and people are still dying.

Maybe we should focus more on the why's instead of the what's.

Well good for you. I hope your fellow bedwetters never take it away from you.

so i provide information that you don't want to read and now i am the target of insults. you asked a question and i respectfully answered it .... and this is the best response you have??????

step inside my door with bad intent and i assure you there are no bedwetters in this household.

you're just irritated because you thought i was not a gun owner. let's me honest. no matter what my answer would have been ... you intention was to somehow level some ridiculous insult at me as if i cared.

if you are lazy, that is also your problem. go to the link and research the site.

it will provide you with gun deaths, accidents, drug related deaths and any other death of a law enforcement officer. but the fact remains that ALL death regardless of the reason is not higher now that previous in history

Your problem is that you are a flaming poster child for all things LDLP!

Apples = gun deaths of leos
Oranges = all deaths of leos
Can you be more specific?

Elmo Cleghorn

CONRAD

go away ... you are the distraction and part time site monitor.

the link isn't worthless at all. i provided clarity. i did not denounce it.

CONRAD

So are you saying your link is worthless and just another distraction there, elmo?

Elmo Cleghorn

Posted 3:56 pm, 09/01/2015

http://www.politifact.com/t...-20-years/

here's another link for comparison. it is the number of persons killed by police.

and why are the numbers going up?????? for the same reason that cops are being killed. it's easier for a cop to shoot someone than it is to chase them.

i have no idea what the next thing is but it has something to do with drones. it's easier to send an armed drone into an illegal pot grow than it is to send men.

Yea it seems the Case Elmo but wonder what the next trend will be? I agree with you on some of your points Elmo, you're pretty spot on. Still though I can't help but wonder where this is all leading. Guns are the trend now and Like I asked wonder what will be the Next big trend? Scares the heck out of me when I think about it.
