I would not wish for any human being to suffer. I figure removal from society is punishment enough.

Incarceration is designed to inflict a level of suffering so to say you wish for no one to suffer would be to say child killers should not be punished. Punishment inflicts suffering. You can not have one without the other.

There's obviously something going on mentally with her. She's young and just had a baby.
Probably lacks the coping skills to deal with a screaming infant. It's sad and I believe she needs help. But that's my opinion. I don't believe her having things rammed up her v*gina is going to bring the baby back or help her become a better person.

This post brings up a good question. What crimes should a person once convicted be eligible for rehabilitation and which crimes should the guilty be exclusively punished? Who should be able to determine what the goal is for the incarcerated? To satisfy the blood lust of a society that has embraced a culture of death there is a point were the only reason for imprisoning someone is to punish. People in legal circles debate how best to rehabilitate inmates but the one question they try to avoid discussing publically is the publics desire to see certain inmates suffer. I wonder how many people that think this woman should be rehabilitated over killing her baby also support a woman's right to abortion?

OK high.

Just because I'm not one for torturing doesn't mean I condone what she's done. But until the facts are in I try my best (often fail) not to resort to torturing a person because of a blurb in a newspaper.

She will not get true justice but I hope prison justice is served. Female inmates have distain for mothers that harm their own child.

....I say cage her with a big butch gal.....hopefully she'll insert odd things in her who who at 3am provoking her to scream to the top of her lungs, then bertha will choke her out as not to get in trouble with the au-thor-ah-thigh. Should this happen every night til her throat explodes.

Stick a bag over her head and let her suffocate. What a piece of garbage, no excuses for this, period.

I don't feel I have that right to judge, but carry on.

Having a tough time and being psychotic are not the same thing. It's a spectrum, you know. Point is, I don't know and you don't know so who are we to judge?

When a child is killed mental problems or not we have the right to judge. I go as far to say we have an obligation to society to publicly tar and feather the victimizer. In the court of public opinion some crimes and behaviors are so vile they transcend any defense anyone might purpose based on the victimizers mental state. We live in a secular society were even though the dominate religion is Christianity the citizens are not bound to strict adherence of it's teachings. I have always been perplexed about thou shall not judge then in the next verse someone other than God is judging someone. The definition of judging is {form an opinion or conclusion about} and it's impossible not to judge when dealing with another person. She will not get true justice but I hope prison justice is served. Female inmates have distain for mothers that harm their own child.

My ex-wife had a tough time with postpartum depression especially when they would not stop crying 3 in the morning. My girl had colic and I had to get up at 4 in the mornings so nights could be rough. She was trying to let me rest for work and she would rest during the day so with that and PD it was to much. I should have done more to help I admit that. One night she screamed why won't you just sleep. I thought that was bad but even with a crying baby and a less than helpful husband she could never harm her precious child. The PD defense is BS in my book. This is pure evil which makes it heartless. A few months ago she could have killed the child with the courts blessing. She made the choice a little to late It's twisted to think about it that way but this the world we live in.

I doubt being heartless has anything to do with it. My first thought was postpartum depression.

I was told about this at work and it just makes me sick. I look at my kids and I can not see how someone can be that heartless. On top of that they should know they can't get away with it. Is being locked away for the rest of their life worth it? I just don't understand.
