newtruck the main thing when working on a Ford is to find the telephone numbers of all the tow truck and junkyard owners before you down too many cold ones.

A Ford Focus works better when it's melted down and brought back to life as 10 mopeds. ¥

Fuel tank level indicators can lie. In the 60's I'd holler brang me a cold beer and a rag she's vapor locked. ¥

Crypt you are right about grounding and testing the plug for fire. Most of the newer makes of cars have two coils and will crank and run off of one coil but will be firing off of just two plugs if one coil has gone bad.

Look closely at the gauges on the dash of your focus. This is a wide spread yet correctable problem. As you are turning the key, locate the gauge with the picture of a small gas pump along side of the indicator needle. If the needle on said gauge is below the "E" mark, a few gallons of unleaded gasoline may correct the problem. This can be purchased at any number of locations throughout the wilkesboroo.

Did you park next to a Chevy? Sounds like some GM cooties might have rubbed off on it.

Tell us more detail. Was it running fine yesterday? If the fuel pump is ok take a plug wire off and plug it onto a good spark plug (lawnmower or whatever) and wrap a piece of bare wire tightly around the threaded metal part of the plug. Connect the other bare end of the wire to battery negative or a bare metal ground. See if there's a spark at the center electrode of the spark plug while someone is trying to start the engine. It's easier to see the spark in the shade.

Turn your switch on and if you don't hear your fuel pump, pumping up pressure, it is bad. Its in the fuel tank and will have to be replaced.
