Windows 10?

It's improved alot. It had all kinds of issues out of the gate with my laptop running Windows 10 this past Christmas! I sent the laptop back after 2 weeks. I don't care for it personally. The biggest issue I had was random freezing in the middle of doing something online or playback of a video. No amount of patience and waiting would commence unfreezing. It seems that and a myriad of other pretty egregious bugs have been resolved. But knowing Microsoft they will break it again.

The biggest problem with Microsoft is not the bugs. By far the biggest concern is Microsoft Privacy policy and they have already been caught lying about it several times. You can setup the two way communication how you want it but they are deceptive making access to it be a very tiny 6pt font link during setup tucked underneath much larger items.

Also even if you do set the 2 way communications to your preference or shut it completely off don't expect Microsoft to honor that. It isn't happening. You'd be wise to put duct tape or something over your web camera if privacy is important to you. I am using Windows 8.1 and will continue to until Microsoft ends support for it then I will use Windows 7 or just use Linux! Search Google and prove us right! Go ahead I implore you!

Well Windows 10 is already on 70 million devices, so Microsoft must be doing something right. If you don't like it you have 30 days to roll back.

It is 50/50. Might work well, might ruin your life. I installed it on three office computers here at ComputerTek and after some tweaking, only one of them gives me any trouble. The privacy thing is a big deal, but I signed my life away to Google years ago. Microsoft was the next move, they own me now. Lol.

If you hate windows 8.1 and want a Windows 7ish experience again, then Windows 10 is here for ya. Just remember that you can try it for a bit, if you hate it, move on back to your previous version.

Windows 10 = privacy a thing of the past. Beware that your camera and microphone default settings are set to on in windows 10. You have to manually disable them.

I upgraded my 8.1 to windows 10 and loved it, seemed more like windows 7...that I still prefer! But, recently I bought a new laptop that came with windows 10....getting it set up is taking longer as I find it more difficult to find what I am looking for. I'm sure once I get use to it, I will be as happy with it. I was tempted at first to put 8.1 on it, do what I wanted to do and then going back to 10....I may still do that, only because I was more familiar with 8.1. I hate having to learn technology. Seems I learn from hit and miss, I just want it to do what I tell it to do and me not have to install this and that. Instructions are one of my mind blocks!

I have and liked it. The only thing I don't like - if you have pirated, copy-written material, it will find it and report it.

I upgraded early on. After using it a couple of days and getting used to it, it is the greatest things since pockets on a shirt.

Yes and the Edge browser would only play the youtube videos that didn't need flash player. Downloaded latest flash still couldn't watch Miley swing on that wrecking ball. Everything else seemed to be ok but I still brought both machines back to previous windows. Wasted approx. one day.

I'm holding off. I've heard to many things about it and I can't deal with more computer issues.

I went to Windows 10 and I didn't like it and went back to 7. I might try again when they go to Windows 11 or 12.

It's easy and yep it is free. I only upgraded one machine, due to Winders wonderful past history. So far, I haven't had any issues with the upgrade. Once I customized it to my liking it works fine but I did make danged sure everything was up to date and compatible with 10 before I upgraded.

Satan's right however at first it did suck but once it is customized it's Hard to tell from Wonders 7 Pro.

I upgraded. It was easy, it was free..I could not wait to revert back to 8.1!! That was easy, too.

Has anybody on GW upgraded their PC to Windows 10?

If so, how do you like it? Is it as simple and free as the popup I keep getting says it is?
