Remember when buying extenders that it will degrade the signal as it's having to pass through another device to get to the endpoint destination. Plus the repeater/extender needs to be placed about midway to the destination PC. If you put it right beside the PC, well it's not doing much good. My opinion would be to spend the extra money and buy an AP and put it at the destination PC. You can find AP's with POE capability that simply run off of a cat5e or cat 6 cable. Note that those usually need a power injector if your router/switch is not capable of doing POE.

I have internet connection and router in my home. I often do work on my laptop in my office building on the same property using my WIFI. Someone was telling me about a device that I could buy to boost my Internet / WIFI signal to put in my office. I know they make some that sit next to the router but that's not quite what I'm looking for.
