Thanks for letting us know. Verizon has some pretty good towers that get pretty decent speed. If you had 4G lte service you would of got around 30 mb/s. Not to bad for cellphone towers IMO. Maybe Google Fiber will come to this area and increase the competition. I've already heard that Comcast is giving free internet upgrades to compete with Google Fiber.

Bought cat 5 cable. Borrowed crimper. Back in business.

Used my phone as a hotspot and found out something interesting, Chatter is running 60+ MPs/4.5mps. Verizon ran 10/10.

Also do you have the crimper tool and the cat 5e/6 ends to put on the cable?

Why do you need Cat 6 for? Cat 5e riser will do just fine and save you money.

If you got a short piece of Ethernet cable, then you can just hook it into the modem and then into a laptop/desktop and see if you get internet. If you do then I would look at replacing the cable. If not, then the problem remains somewhere else.

Could be your network adapter on mobo.

Power cycled everything early on. Have done it several times to no avail. Replaced the Ethernet switch, still nothing. Hooked everything up straight, has to be the cable..... Ugh.....

You may just need to power cycle your equipment.

Have you checked the router/modem to make sure that it didn't get struck? How is the Ethernet cable ran? Is it ran through conduit, along the ground, etc? Ethernet cabling getting struck is not as common as the router/modem getting struck. You said your office, do you work from home, or for a company?

Need someone that can test an ethernet cable. I got a lightning hit yesterday and have lost internet at my office. Pretty sure the cable is toast, If it were not over 75' long, I would just replace it
