Not sure...I don't think it was a lot. Maybe 40 or 50 dollars? But that was 3 or 4 years ago so it could be more now.

Are you sure it was an authentic Windows program? I know someone this happened to, and their computer wouldn't install updates, and it shut itself all the way down every night. They had to take it to someone to get the bootleg copy deleted and install an authentic copy of windows.

About every fourth or fifth time my computer does the auto-updates it messes everything up. Half the software will not work. So, I do a back-up to previous operations. When i shut down it does the update again and it all works like it is supposed to. Frustrating to say the least. The updates supposedly close security breaches. All i can say it it must have been a real seive when it was first installed!

I still having trouble running the updates. There over 30 updates that need to updated. Some of the updates are important.

My computer will not run the updates on it. When it starts it said undoing updates. Is the updates important.
