I just put some dawn dish liquid in mine, run very hot water in it till bubbles to the top, place lid on top, but not closed, overnight then rinse and put in dishwasher as normal.

I have heard that you can put newspapers inside the container for a while (not sure how long) to remove odors.

Cover with water, Dd several nickels to water, add 1/4 C salt, and 1/2 cup vinegar. Bring to boil. Remove from heat, let water cool naturally. Remove sweet smelling item and now tarnished nickels. Voila! Lids like new!

I need help - I diced an onion and put it in a Rubbermaid easy find lid bowl and now my lid smells like onions. I have used vinegar, baking soda, dish detergent, lemon juice, coffee grounds & boiling it. The onions were only in the bowl for about 1 1/2 days. I don't know what else to try. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
