A poster from New York posted a meatball recipe on here in 2005.. It was the best meatball recipe I have ever made. I think it would be great to use sausage. Here is a copy and paste from one of the posts that describes how to make it. The wine in the sauce really adds a good flavor.

NYgirl posted it. She posted many variations and I kind of put them all together when I tried this the other night. She said in one variation that is not mentioned here to add cooked hot italian sausages cut up in pieces to the crockpot. I did this and it was sooo great. I served it with penne pasta. This is the best recipe I have ever cooked from here. I used ground chuck so it was kind of greasy, but still great.

Meatballs :
Ground turkey, chicken or beef: 1 lb or so
1 egg
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tsp basil or fresh is much better
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

optional treat - cut up small pieces of mozzarela cheese to stick in the middle of meat balls - I have now added a fresh leaf of basil to each meatball and the kids love love love it.

mix the above and stick the cheese in the middle.....cover with two cans of TRADITIONAL hunts canned spaghetti sauce and cook all day on low 7 hrs minimum. Yes the meatballs go in raw and they cook just fine.

Add one small can of paste about 10-15 minutes before serving...in crock to make sauce thicker.

Added treat - add 1/2 cup or so of red wine in the a.m when you get going......gives the sauce a nice taste

Another added treat.....add a can of Alfredo sauce ......so 1 can spaghetti sauce and one can Alfredo sauce and cook all day - again yummmm

Does anyone make meatballs? What is your recipe? I was thinking of trying one pound each burger and sausage, an egg and some plain bread crumbs. Unsure how long to bake them. Thanks.
