Police are gathering evidence in a week old murder, and the accused is still in jail with no bond.


Police say they're collecting evidence that they'll send to the State Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab. They're also doing interviews about the case.Courtney Neil Scott is still in jail, held with no bond, and facing a murder charge for allegedly shooting and killing William Eugene Sprinkle. Captain Steve Cabe of the Wilkes County Sheriff's Department said Sprinkle was shot at Scott's home in Millers Creek after Sprinkle went to talk about money with Scott. Cabe says Scott does have a criminal record, but Sprinkle did not.
