SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) EVERY TUESDAY evening from 6PM-7PM at the library to assist low income families in getting their pets fixed and help with overpopulation in Wilkes County. Sponsored by the Humane Society of Wilkes (HSoW).

Program is INCOME RELATED and PROOF OF INCOME IS REQUIRED. If you are on public assistance a FOOD STAMP CARD (EBT) or MEDICAID CARD is acceptable as proof of income. Be prepared to pay full amount due at sign up on account of we issue a voucher to pay for procedure.

Cost varies by income level. For example: Person with income below $15,000 a year - dog or cat $25. LAW REQUIRES pets to be up to date on Rabies Vaccinations. If pet is NOT current there will be an additional charge of $7. So for a person with income below $15,000 a year with pet needing rabies vaccination the total cost would be $32, a savings of over $100.
