SAFE, Inc. invites local men to participate in “Face the Facts,” a 'battle of the beards' to create awareness and raise funds for SAFE. The beard growing contest begins Wednesday, Feb. 22nd with a rolling kick off event from 7:30 until 9:00 a.m. at the Dine-n-Dash at 1299 S. Collegiate Drive in Wilkesboro. Clean shaven contestants will have their “before” pictures made, and they’ll receive “Ask Me About My SAFE Face” buttons to wear throughout the competition. The competition will continue through April 5th. At the campaign finale, prizes will be awarded for Best Styling, Most Unusual Beard and Top Fund ‘Razor'. "Face the Facts" is a fun way for men to take a visible stand against domestic and sexual violence.
