Summer in Downtown North Wilkesboro is about to heat up with this year�s First Friday Downtown Summer Concert Series. Presented by the Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership and the Wilkes County Public Library, this series of events will offer something for everyone.

Lady and the Krunk from Boone, NC will kick-off the first concert in the series in the Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club�s Park located on the corner of 10th and Main Streets. Co-sponsored by GoWilkes.com, the show begins at 7PM and goes until 9PM.

Lady and the Krunk is a dirty blues based rock & roll band with a deep groove and tight pocket. Their vintage sound mixes old school class with edgy familiarity in a blend of boogie-woogie, funk, and soul, a cross between Etta James and Jerry Lee Lewis. Be sure to bring your lawn chair and enjoy �Blues on the Block�!

There will be two other concerts in this series. July�s First Friday concert will feature The Local Boys for �Rock on the Block�, and in August, the �Beach Block Party� will be back with music provided by The Extraordinaires.
